About Me

Since graduating in 2018, I have had the opportunity to develop my skills in a variety of dental environments. My foundation year involved working in a mixed NHS and private practice where I undertook a full range of general dental services under the care of well-established and experienced mentors. Following my year in practice, I secured my preference of a DCT1 post in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal London Hospital. During this year, I greatly improved my surgical skills and had the opportunity to assist in major OMFS cases, undertake my own GA and LA lists and work on a number of different clinics including 2WW cancer and trauma clinics. When this post was interrupted by COVID-19 I was redeployed to the Urgent Treatment Centre where, despite being in a non-dental environment, I continued to enhance my patient management, communication and teamwork skills. Throughout my year in hospital, I have also ensured I maintained my general dental skills by working regular sessions in private practice.
My experiences to date have fuelled my interest in oral surgery and restorative dentistry and I am keen to further my education in these domains. I have also broadened my interests by attending various courses including the SAAD sedation training, which allows me to provide patients with more treatment options. Other courses that I plan on attending to enhance my professional development include facial aesthetics and Invisalign (delayed due to COVID-19).
I am also particularly passionate about teaching. So far, I have given multiple presentations on career pathways and progression, and this is something I would like to develop further in the future.
