Karen qualified with Honours from the University of Sheffield, gaining Honours in Biochemistry, Human Disease, Clinical Dentistry and Distinctions in Physiology, Medical Microbiology. She went on to work at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Birmingham Dental Hospital in the Departments of Restorative Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Prosthetics, also gaining the MFDS qualification. She was also involved in undergraduate teaching at both hospitals.
Awards from the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry were given at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Karen is heavily involved in postgraduate education and is currently in her third year (of four) of an MClinDent (Double Masters in Clinical Dentistry) in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics as well as studying for a certificate in Implantology at the University of Sheffield. Her main interests are restorative dentistry including crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures and tooth wear.
