I take pride in my work and my desire to learn more and expanding my skill sets in order to improve the quality of care I deliver to my patients. Understanding that dentistry should not be just about restoring ones oral health, but also restoring patient's confidence in themselves when they smile is very important.
Since graduation, I have invested heavily in myself in developing and improving my quality of care. During my foundation dentist year, I have purchased many dental equipments and been on many courses to develop and improve my skills. As a foundation dentist, it wasn't a necessity for me to spend my own time to learn more about the field of dentistry, yet I did. I spent hours on increasing my knowledge and improving my skills set to try to achieve and learn more.
I am keen to learn about all aspects of dentistry, however I find myself enjoying the field of minimally invasive and aesthetic dentistry the most. In order to deliver a good predictable long-term outcome, understanding dental materials is imperative. Adhesive dentistry plays an important role in modern dentistry. This is why one of my first investment as an FD was an intra-oral air-abrasive device. Achieving a predictable outcome means so much more than just sticking some composites into a hole, it is about replacing diseased tissue with a biologically emulating restoration. My goal is to implement that to the best of my ability.
Restoring a smile requires multi-disciplinary approach. This is why during my foundation year, I have carried out my first step to alignment systems. I am certified to provide Invisalign Go. I have also been mentored by the internationally recognised Dr Paul Lau, former Vice President of The Hong Kong Society of Orthodontics in the field of orthodontics as well.
I am driven and is very motivated to improve the quality of care delivered to my patients. This is reflected on my continuation in self development.
