I graduated with an Athletics Blue from Edinburgh University in 1992. I started my career as a General Dental Practitioner within the Royal Air Force gaining clinical and management experience in a variety of dental practices.
In 1999 I was selected as the Senior Dentist for Boots Dentalcare Rickmansworth which formed part of a template for a group of national practices.
I then undertook periodontal and implant specialist training at the Eastman Dental Institute and was appointed as the Clinical Director and Wing Commander of the Military School of Dental Training. I completed my military career in 2012, after overseas assignments to the Netherlands and Germany.
I am on the specialist list for Periodontics and he is accredited by the European Federation of Periodontology. He is a Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh examiner, a British Dental Association Good Practice Assessor and a research supervisor for the MSc in Primary Dental Practice at the University of Kent. I was also a former external MClinDent programme assessor for the Eastman Dental Institute.
I was also (until 2018) the Principal of a 5-dentist private practice. He now works exclusively in private practice.
I have a strong interest in clinical management and leadership and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management.Outside the surgery, I am a keen health and fitness enthusiast and a qualified fitness instructor. I strongly believes that overall diet and health is vital to preventing disease
